Managing student online enrollments

Overview:

If you have enabled online student enrollments (see Enabling student sign-up) there are some additional things to know about the student enrollment.

Students can enroll and start on your courses with a "minimal enrollment" process, or you can force a full enrollment before they are able to access the course (see Force immediate student sign-up for full details).

However, in either case they will show as an enrollment right away. Students who have used the minimal enrollment option (and have not yet done the full enrollment subsequently) AND students for whom a full enrollment was forced but whom have not yet done that full enrollment - will BOTH show as students enrolled in the course they selected.

As they have not done the full enrollment their name (etc.) will not have been captured and so they will just show as "New Student".

Management:

To better enable management of these different categories (new students vs students who have done a full enrollment setup), some applicable screens (currently the "Student" and the "Enrollment" screens) now have a few new features:

Viewing:

When viewing these screens, student whom have not yet done a full enrollment are highlighted with a darker background colour and a lighter text colour.

These highlighted students have only done the minimal enrollment:

Additionally when you now view the student record details it is clearly highlighted if the student has only done a minimal enrollment so far.

Filtering:

Additionally, you can now filter for which type you are viewing. You can select:

  • "Activated" - being students who have done the full enrollment

  • "Un-Activated" - being students who have not yet done so

  • Or both

Note: If you unselect both options the system will default back to "Activated" (or you would see nothing at all!)

NEW: Filtering update:

  • We now have two additional filtering options here:

    • "Enabled"

    • "Locked"

  • See Free Plan settings for details.

Menu options:

For more information about the new "Options" features on these (and other) screens see Display and filter option settings.
