A new field has been added to the student record edit and view screen - "Company Name". This can be useful for sorting and managing students if you are training students from various companies and want to organise things based on that.

You can now optionally also enforce capture of this field on student sign-up and control if they can change (edit) it after sign-up or not.

The new field:

The new field "Company Name" has been added to the student record edit screen and view screen. This is an optional text field where you can enter a company name (or anything really) to use for your records of this student.

It can be entered/ updated on the edit screen here:

And can be seen on the view screen here:

And here on the students list screen (as long as you tick the "Company" column selection option):

Mandatory on enrollment option:

You have the option to capture this information from the students themselves as they sign up - if you wish. If you turn this option on then the student is asked for their employer company name and must supply that as part of signing up.

To turn this feature on:

  • Go to "ACCOUNT" > "(+) Organisation" > "Miscellaneous"

  • Scroll down to "Force student to provide company name when first signing up" and tick the checkbox for "Turn on force company name"

  • Optionally you can also set the checkbox for "Allow students to edit their company name after signing up" (see below for more details)

  • Scroll further down to the bottom of the page and click "Save"

Allow students to update company name:

If you set the option to force company name entry on sign-up then you can also allow students to later edit this field (from their profiles setting screen). If you leave this option off then they can see but cannot edit it. This feature relates to the article: Prevent or allow students to edit their names and email addresses and is provided for the same reason.

If "Turn on force company name" is not set, then students do not see this company name field when signing up nor when editing their profile.
