Instructions for students available here: Tip for students: Chat sending options

Options:

For sending chat messages you can either:

  • Have a new line in your text message each time you press <enter> on your keyboard

  • Make a new paragraph by pressing "<enter>" twice

  • And send the message by pressing the "Send" button on the screen

or:

  • Have the message sent each time you press <enter> on your keyboard (or the "Send" button on the screen)

  • Have a new line in your text message by pressing "Shift+<enter>" on your keyboard

  • And make a new paragraph by pressing "Shift+<enter>" twice on your keyboard

Change your option setting:

To change this setting simply tick or untick the "Use <enter> to send" checkbox under the "Send" button.

Saving your setting:

You don't have to do anything to save your setting. Enlight will remember your most recent setting choice and use that next time you use chat - simple!

Setting the system default:

You can change the default setting for new instructors and students if you wish. By default this setting is off (unticked). Once a student or instructor uses chat Enlight will, as above, remember their most recent setting and use that.

To change this default setting:

  • Go to "ACCOUNT" > "Organsiation" > "Chat Settings"

  • Set the "Set the "<enter>" key default function in chat sessions" option there.
