Spell checking your course content

Do you wish to spell check your course content (if you are like me, a lousy typist and a mediocre speller - lol)?

How to catch spelling mistakes:

Default:

By default, when you enter text into the text editors (HTML web editors - whatever you want to call them), you get no spell checking:

Turn on spell checking (manual):

Click the "ABC" spell check icon and select "Enable SCAYT" - SCAYT stands for "Spell Check As You Type" which is the spell checker for the text editor we use.

Now your spelling errors are highlighted.

Right-click on any underlined word to see spelling suggestions.

Turn on spell checking (automatic):

If you want to set spell checking to always be on, you can now do this. Go to “ACCOUNT > Your Profile > Options” and select "Turn on editor spelling checker by default".

Set the spelling check language:

You can set your spelling language here. That seems to be permanent once you've set it once.
